About Henry Milner - Solicitor and Higher Courts Advocate
Henry Milner qualified from the London School of Economics in
1975 and set up his own legal practice in 1978. He has been involved
defending in a very large number of the more serious cases in the
last 30 years.
From 1983 onwards he was instructed to act on behalf of numerous
defendants in all the series of Brink's Mat Robbery Trials. He acted
in the defence of the only two acquitted defendants in the Dome
Robbery Trial.
During his career he has also acted for the defence in a good number
of the more widely reported murder cases, as well as some of the
most serious cases involving Customs and Excise prosecutions, fraud,
money laundering and large scale drug importations. His firm has
also been involved in many successful Criminal Appeals and Confiscation
Appeals (both in the Criminal and Civil Courts).
He is a Higher Courts Advocate appearing in Court on occasions
in person for the client as well as preparing the case for trial.
He also personally specialises in bail applications.
He has always veered away from transforming his practice into a
large scale 'factory style' organisation, believing that this would
result in the lowering of personal service and attention to detail
which is so crucial to a successful defence, and which can tend
to be lost in large criminal defence practices.
In 1998 he was the subject of a full interview, which was printed
in the Sunday Times regarding his criminal practice.
He is also the author of several articles which have been published
over the years in the Law section of the Times newspaper. These
are reprinted in full on this website, together with the Sunday
Times interview, and two of his Short Stories.
